In 1837, playwright E.R. Lancaster wrote The Manager’s Daughter especially for the child actress Jean Margaret Davenport, at the request of her manager-father Thomas Davenport. The Davenports performed this playlet throughout England, North America, and the Caribbean.

This reading of the play was held in December 2015 and features a cast of undergraduate students from the Department of Theatre at York University. Many thanks to videographer Mark Matusoff.
